PIED À TERRE
LONDON N7
Scope of Build: We were approached by long-time collaborators Helene Bowden Design to design a bespoke home office and timber staircase for an Californian client's apartment in the Beaux Arts building - a former Post Office money order office in North London.
Outcome: The cantilevered desk includes a small amount of open shelving for display, balanced with generous cabinetry to conceal clutter. The cedar desktop and shelves, made from a timber native to the US West Coast, is a nod to the client's roots. The staircase, with slim spindles and finished with a contemporary stair runner, is discreetly detailed with clean shadow gaps, and hides storage and plant.
