Scope of Build: A 1970s house owned by the same family since its construction needed updating, whilst respecting the memories it holds and improving the view of the nearby lagoon.

Outcome: Replacing the external stair with an internal one makes the house easier to use, and connecting the house to an underused outbuilding creates a new bedroom. Custom built-in and free-standing furniture adds useful and pleasant to use storage space. The open kitchen and dining area is finished in simple, easy to clean materials, allowing more time at the beach.
