We are excited to see construction underway on one of our projects in the Dartmouth Park Conservation Area, NW5. The main contractor is London Renovators, with kitchen cabinetry by Madeby68, and other cabinetry by Laz Furniture.

The project involves renovating and extending the lower and upper ground floors. This is a modest extension on the outside — infilling the side return and extending a metre into the garden — but there are big changes inside: larger open-plan spaces, a parents’ snug, and a new double-height space with a relocated staircase connecting the two floors.

This new layout also allows space to add a WC on each level (usually absent in unaltered Victorian townhouses), a two-person study, and a bike store that doubles as a boot room. Exposed steel, bold colours and natural oak will give the contemporary lower ground floor extension its own character, set against the taller skirtings, deeper tones and ornate ceiling roses of the upper floor.

We are looking forward to sharing progress as the build takes shape over the coming months.
