Starting on Site: Timber-frame Eco Summerhouse in Sneyd Park

Writer's picture: Mark FinneyMark Finney

One of our new-builds, an eco summerhouse, is starting on site in the Sneyd Park Conservation Area, Bristol.

We obtained planning permission in March 2020 for what will be a single-storey gym and studio, which perches on a steeply sloping site. The project also involves a mix of sloping and terraced landscaping designed with Artisan Landscapes.

While designing this we've learnt a lot about of timber-framed construction, and have incorporated PassivHaus design principles with the help of EcoSpheric sustainability consultants. The result will be a triple-glazed, highly-insulated building with heat recovery technology, positioned to take in amazing garden views.

We can’t wait to see this take shape, and look forward to posting progress photos soon!
